GRIND is the first company to create an affordable basketball shooting machine - that folds into a duffle bag. If you’ve never played basketball it’s a twelve foot tall machine that captures a player’s rebounds, passes the ball back (emulating a game-like pass), and allows players to shoot up to 1,200 shots per hour. Our Basketball shooting machine is designed to be affordable and portable - built with a lightweight design that folds into a large duffle bag maximizing the usability for athletes.

Role:

As a Mechanical Engineer at GRIND, you will help create products and experiences that have a powerful and inspiring impact on athletes.

 

Relevant experience:

  • Comfortable (almost a wizard) using CAD - specifically SolidWorks.

  • Recent graduate or currently pursing a degree in Mechanical

  • Preferred Senior or recent grad. (not mandatory)

  • Hands-on experience in robotics is a must

  • Knowledge of Mechanical components and Demonstrate rapid prototyping skills.

  • Ability to generate ideas quickly without a lot of background information or parameters.

  • Ability to gather research on a process and determine the most cost effective route.

  • User-Centered Design at the core of your process.

Your Tasks:

  • Create CAD models and technical drawings with ability to use solid works, quickly and accurately.

  • Build and test functional prototypes using 3D printing, welding, plasma cutting and CNC machining processes.

  • Iterate on different systems to optimize product experience and conduct testing.

  • Communicate with manufacturers and improve the procurement process.

  • Comprehensive testing of prototypes.

  • Conduct/Record User focused Testing.

  • Iterate and guide products through manufacturing stage.
