General Information

The GRIND Machine passing distance will be set to pass to the high school 3-point line (around 19 feet) without any adjustments. A shorter or farther distance can be achieved, just reach out to our Support team and they'll share the steps to make the adjustments.

Yes, we do! Please send your proposal to our CMO, Amry, at amry@grindbasketball.com, along with your social media handles for her to review. Keep in mind that responses to these requests can take up to 15 business days.

The GRIND Machine does not keep track of made and missed shots.

The GRIND Machine rotates manually and passes to 5 spots on the court (top of the key, free throw line extended, and both corners). There is a small lever on the base that is used to change spots!

The height of the rim must be 10 feet off the ground for the GRIND Machine to operate as designed. The Machine is also designed to work with backboards with a width of 44 inches and more, which includes the following standard backboard widths: High School, NCAA, NBA, and FIBA Regulation. The Machine works best with basketball goals that have space between the goal and pole that holds the backboard up.

The GRIND Machine is designed to be stored laying flat. When stored, the Machine's footprint is 4’ in length, 1' 8" in width, and 2’ in height. The GRIND Machine cannot be stored in an upright position. If you are going to leave the Machine outside, make sure to use a waterproof bag cover to protect it from rain, snow, etc. The bag that comes with the Machine can be used to protect the Machine from dust and the wind.

The GRIND Machine is powered only by a U.S.-standard electrical outlet (not battery-powered). In case you do not have access to an outlet, you can purchase a portable power supply that is compatible with the Machine - we recommend this one on Amazon, as the GRIND Team has tested it with the Machine, showing optimal performance results. On average, our tests showed that the recommended power supply lasts for about 1.5 hours, depending on the usage.

The Machine comes with a 6-foot, three-prong extension cord, but a longer cord may need to be purchased by a third party if your outlet is further away from this distance. We recommend at least a medium-duty, three-prong extension cord that is rated for outdoor usage.

The GRIND Machine can comfortably use two balls in succession to reach 1,000 shots per hour.

To do so, we highly recommend shooting one ball first and waiting until that first ball reaches the funnel of the Machine. This gives the Machine a fair amount of time between passes. The Machine doesn't have a "stopper" to hold and time passes, so the time between each pass is dependent on how the ball is rebounded.

The weight of the GRIND Machine is 110 lbs. It folds into a duffel bag, with two wheels for easy transportation and storage.

When transporting the GRIND Machine in your vehicle, it may require one additional person to assist with loading and unloading. For convenience, the netting system (Upper) can be removed from the base (Lower) to split the weight of the Machine.

The GRIND Machine has a standard pass to the high school 3-point line (about a 19-foot pass). To use all the 5 shooting spots available in the Machine (top of the key, both free-throw line extended, and both deep corners), you need a minimum surface area of approximately 20ft x 20ft (the more space, the better). Some of our customers have narrow driveways and can only use the top of the key as their pass spot, while other customers with wide backyards use the other passing positions. It all depends on the space available to you!

If the Machine arrives and you find that it passes too far based on your court set up, then you can reach out to us and our Engineering team will walk you through lowering the air pressure so the pass isn't as far.

We make sure to ship an instruction manual with every GRIND Machine, which includes steps for a small amount of assembly. We also have instructional videos on our official YouTube channel. If you have any questions, please reach out to our Support team at info@grindbasketball.com.

We also offer the White Glove Assembly service by partnering with LoadUp. It’s available for purchase on the GRIND Machine product page or through here. The White Glove Assembly service can be purchased anytime, as long as your GRIND Machine is still in the box. They will assemble your machine and remove any trash. Once you've purchased the service, you will receive an email with next steps.

Yes, the GRIND machine is built with electrical components that should be kept out of the rain/sleet/snow etc. If you are going to leave the Machine outside, make sure to use a waterproof bag cover to protect it from rain, snow, etc. The bag that comes with the Machine can be used to protect the Machine from dust and the wind.

The GRIND machine is safe to use for athletes 8 and up. We do recommend adult supervision for 8 - 13 year olds to make sure they understand and learn how to use the machine safely.

The GRIND machine rotates manually and passes to 5 spots on the court (top of the key, free throw line extended, both corners). There is a small lever on the base that is used to change spots.

The GRIND Machine works best with size 7 (29.5" men's basketball), and size 6 (28.5" boys/girls/women's basketball). Basketballs that are smaller than this will release from the machine at a much greater force than normal. We don't recommend larger basketballs, as they may get stuck in the funnel.

Pricing

Absolutely! Our payment plan system is easy to use. You can find this option on the GRIND Machine product page before checkout, by clicking on the option ‘View sample plans’.

You may also be eligible for payment plans starting as low as $107 a month with Affirm. (What is Affirm?)

We have partnered with Affirm to bring you the option to pay for your GRIND Machine over time. The terms and policies in place have been set by Affirm, for any questions regarding your agreement please contact Affirm customer support.

Please refer to the following information for more details!

What is Affirm?

Affirm is a financing alternative to credit cards and other credit-payment products. Affirm offers instant financing for online purchases to be paid in fixed monthly installments.

Why buy with Affirm?

  • Buy and receive your purchase right away, and pay for it over several months. This payment option allows you to split the price of your purchase into fixed payment amounts that fit your monthly budget.
  • If Affirm approves your loan, you'll see your loan terms before you make your purchase. See exactly how much you owe each month, the number of payments you must make, and the total amount of interest you'll pay over the course of the loan. There are no hidden fees.
  • The application process is secure and real-time. Affirm asks you for a few pieces of information. After you provide this information, Affirm notifies you of the loan amount that you're approved for, the interest rate, and the number of months that you have to pay off your loan -- all within seconds.
  • You don't need a credit card to make a purchase. Affirm lends to the merchant directly on your behalf.
  • You may be eligible for Affirm financing even if you don't have an extensive credit history. Affirm bases its loan decision not only on your credit score but also on several other data points about you.
  • Affirm reminds you by email and SMS before your upcoming payment is due. Enable Autopay to schedule automatic monthly payments on your loan.

What is required to have an Affirm account?

To sign up for Affirm, you must:

  • Be 18 years or older (19 years or older in Alabama or if you're a ward of the state in Nebraska).
  • Not be a resident of Iowa (IA) or West Virginia (WV).
  • Provide a valid U.S. or APO/FPO/DPO home address.
  • Provide a valid U.S. mobile or VoIP number and agree to receive SMS text messages. The phone account must be registered in your name.
  • Provide your full name, email address, date of birth, and the last 4 digits of your social security number to help us verify your identity.

How does Affirm work?

Affirm loan-application process steps:

  1. At checkout, choose Pay with Affirm.
  2. Affirm prompts you to enter a few pieces of information: Name, email, mobile phone number, date of birth, and the last four digits of your social security number. This information must be consistent and your own.
  3. To ensure that you're the person making the purchase, Affirm sends a text message to your cell phone with a unique authorization code.
  4. Enter the authorization code into the application form. Within a few seconds, Affirm notifies you of the loan amount you're approved for, the interest rate, and the number of months you have to pay off your loan. You have the option to pay off your loan over three, six, or twelve months. Affirm states the amount of your fixed, monthly payments and the total amount of interest you'll pay over the course of the loan.
  5. To accept Affirm's financing offer, click Confirm Loan and you're done.

After your purchase, you'll receive monthly email and SMS reminders about your upcoming payments. You can also set up autopay to avoid missing a payment.  Your first monthly payment is due 30 days from the date that we (the merchant) process your order.

How does Affirm approve borrowers for loans?

  • Affirm asks for a few pieces of personal information: Name, email address, mobile phone number, date of birth, and the last four digits of your social security number.
  • Affirm verifies your identity with this information and makes an instant loan decision.
  • Affirm bases its loan decision not only on your credit score but also on several other data points.  This means that you may be able to obtain financing from Affirm even if don't have an extensive credit history.

Does Affirm perform a credit check? Does it impact my credit score?

Although Affirm performs a credit check when you apply for a loan, this won't impact your credit score. However, if you're approved and decide to buy with Affirm, your loan and payments may affect your credit score.  Paying on time can help you build a positive credit history.

Why was I denied financing by Affirm?

The merchant has no information regarding a customer's financing denial. Affirm strives to offer all credit-worthy applicants financing with Affirm but isn't able to offer credit in every case. Affirm will send you an email with more details about its decision. Unfortunately, Affirm's decision is final.

Why was I asked to verify my identity?

If Affirm has difficulty confirming your identity, you may need to provide more information. Affirm uses modern technology to confirm your identity, including verifying your address or full SSN or requesting a photo of your ID. Affirm takes these steps in some cases to counter fraud and provide the most accurate credit decision they can.

Why was I prompted to enter my income?

Affirm may sometimes need more information about your finances and your ability to repay in order to make a credit decision. Your income gives Affirm additional insight into your ability to repay.

Why was I prompted for my checking account?

Affirm may sometimes need more information about your finances and your ability to repay in order to make a credit decision. If you are prompted to link your checking account and would like to proceed, please provide the login information for your online bank account. Affirm does not store your online login credentials---they are transmitted securely to your bank.

If Affirm asks you to link your checking account, Affirm won't be able to offer you credit if:

  • Your bank is not listed
  • You choose not to link your checking account
    You don't use online banking
The username and/or password you provide is incorrect
*You're unable to successfully connect your checking account

Why is my bank not listed?

Although Affirm is continually adding support for additional banks, they aren't able to connect to every bank at the present time. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you're unable to connect your bank, you'll need to complete your purchase with another payment method.

Why was I prompted for a down payment?

Affirm isn't always able to offer credit for the full amount you request. In these cases, Affirm asks you to make a down payment with a debit card for the remainder of your purchase. The down payment amount can't be changed and must be made upon confirming your loan and before the loan offer expires.

Will I see how much interest I am paying prior to accepting my loan?

Yes! Affirm works hard to be completely transparent. You'll see the amount of interest you'll owe on the terms page and again on the loan confirmation page. If you pay off your loan early, you'll receive a rebate for any interest that hasn't yet accrued.

Why can't customers outside the U.S. use Affirm?

Affirm is available only to shoppers residing in the United States. Affirm hopes to expand its services to customers outside the U.S. in the future.

What are Affirm's fees?

The annual percentage rate (APR) on an Affirm loan ranges from 10% to 30%. Affirm discloses any required fees upfront before you make a purchase, so you know exactly what you will pay for your financing. Affirm does not charge any hidden fees, including annual fees.

Why is my Affirm interest rate so high?

When Affirm determines your annual percentage rate (APR), it evaluates a number of factors, including your credit score and other data about you. If you finance future purchases with Affirm, you may be eligible for a lower APR depending on your financial situation at the time of purchase.

This APR calculator will give you an idea of how much interest you actually pay: https://www.affirm.com/apr-calculator/

When you consider Affirm financing, carefully evaluate the loan terms that Affirm offers you and determine whether the monthly payments fit your budget.

How is interest on an Affirm loan calculated?

Affirm calculates the annual percentage rate (APR) of a loan using simple interest, which equals the rate multiplied by the loan amount and by the number of months the loan is outstanding.

This model differs from compound interest, in which the interest expense is calculated on the loan amount and the accumulated interest on the loan from previous periods. Think about compound interest as "interest on interest," which can increase the loan amount. Credit cards, for example, use compound interest to calculate the interest expense on outstanding credit card debt.

The GRIND Machine cost $2,500.00 before tax. You may also qualify for payment plans starting as low as $107 a month with Affirm. The GRIND Machine does not operate on an app and does not require a monthly subscription.

Standard shipping for the GRIND Machine is $99 in the United States, however, shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico is available for an extra fee. Please contact us at info@grindbasketball.com to discuss. If you’re interested in a quote for international shipping, just send us an email at info@grindbasketball.com.

How do I make my payments?

Before each payment is due, Affirm sends you an email or SMS reminder with the installment amount that is coming due and the due date. You have the option to sign up for autopay, so you don't risk missing a payment.

Follow these steps to make a payment:

1. Go to www.affirm.com/account.
2. Enter your mobile phone number. Affirm sends a personalized security PIN to your phone.
3. Enter this security PIN into the form on the next page and click Sign in.
4. After you sign in, a list of your loans appears, with payments that are coming due. Click the loan payment you would like to make.
5. Make a payment using a debit card or ACH bank transfer.

If I return an item, how do refunds work?

A refund will be posted to your Affirm account if we process your refund request. In the event that we issue you store credit instead of a refund, you are still responsible for paying off your Affirm loan.

If you have already made loan payments or a down payment, Affirm issues a refund credit to the bank account or debit card that you used to make the payments. We do not refund any paid interest.

How long does it take to get my money back in the event of a return?

A refund credit appears in your account within three to ten business days, depending on your bank's processing time.

Can I amend my order after my purchase has been processed? Can I be approved for a higher loan amount if my purchase amount increases?

You cannot edit your order after you have confirmed your loan. If you want to add items to your purchase, apply for another loan with Affirm or use a different payment method.

Am I able to obtain a refund after my purchase?

Refunds can be processed up to 365 days from the date your order is placed.

Accrue Savings

Yes. Money saved and earned in your Accrue Savings account is distinct from any discounts, sales, or promotions GRIND may offer. You will be using a virtual debit card for GRIND (much like a gift card would work) that allows you to take advantage of any other discounts you may have.

You can stop your savings and initiate a refund for all of the money you have deposited in your Accrue savings account anytime by writing into our support team at support@accruesavings.com. You will forfeit all of the rewards you have earned. You will receive a full refund of your deposits in your account 3-5 business days after you initiate the request.

Once you set a savings plan, you will have access to the Accrue Savings dashboard. From there, you can view all of your savings plans and can invite friends and family via email or web link to contribute to specific goals.

  1. Create your Accrue Savings account (with or without a goal amount)
  2. Decide how you would like to fund your savings (Recurring schedule, Round Ups, One Time Deposits, Crowdfunds, or a mixture of all)
  3. Get cash rewards on every deposit into your savings.
  4. When you are ready make your purchase with a virtual debit card
  5. Continue to save for a later purchase or stop your savings

How can I fund my savings?

  1. Monitor a personal account of your choosing and round up purchases to the nearest 50c, $1, or $2
  2. Set a recurring deposit to your Accrue savings goal
  3. Make a one time supplement payment to reach your goal faster
  4. Have friends and family contribute to your savings goal
  5. Earn rewards for every deposit made to your savings

How long does it take to save for a purchase with Accrue Savings?

Accrue Savings offers complete flexibility allowing you to save on your own schedule--whether it be weeks, months, or longer. Based on your preferences, configure auto-deposits by amount and on weekly, biweekly, or monthly intervals.

Depending on the location where you are sending your purchase, and the shipping method you select at checkout, the final purchase price of your product may be greater than the amount that you have saved in your Accrue Savings account. This incremental cost is unknown when you initially set your savings schedule.

We offer a buffer amount to make your purchase in case the amount is over your savings goal. If you spend more than what is in your savings you will still earn rewards towards that purchase and we will issue a one time transaction from your payment source to cover the remainder.

For Example: If you had a savings goal of $500 and were earning 10% in rewards at the time and your total purchase amount was $600. We would contribute an additional $10 in rewards and withdraw $90 from your attached account to cover the difference.

If you return a product and wish to receive your money back, simply reach out to support@accruesavings.com. The refund will be applied to your FDIC insured account with us. You will forfeit any accrued rewards. Your deposited funds will be refunded in full and available in your account 3-5 business days after you initiate the request and the refund is processed.

If the refund is for less than the original purchase price Accrue will deduct the amount of the rewards and issue a refund for the remaining balance.

You can make a purchase whenever you would like along your savings journey for the full amount saved or a lesser amount. Rewards are applied at the time of purchase on a prorated basis

For example: if you have a $500 balance including $400 in your deposits and $100 in earned rewards and you make a purchase for $250 (50% of total savings goal balance) You would use $200 in your deposits and $50 in rewards. The remaining balance would stay in your savings until you make another purchase or stop your savings.

Accrue Savings offers a FDIC-insured account through Blue Ridge Bank N.A. tied to a specific purchase or goal that helps you afford the GRIND Machine without debt, interest, or late fees. You will earn cash rewards along the way and can invite family and friends to contribute to your goal.
